Nature is the best place to find beauty inspiration. It’s natural, pure, simple and gets us back in touch with the basics. Last week I told you about tea tree oil, one of the three oils that has found his way in my beauty cabinet, and is there to stay! Today my second darling: the gold of Marocco – argan oil.
I have to admit that it requires some guts to smear your whole face in oil. Assuming that I would look like a living Christmas ornament, I decided to use it first at night when I’m at my prettiest anyway (sorry boyfriend). Right after I’ve stripped my face from the dirt piled up during the day, I apply a few drops. Even though, yes, the product is oily, it’s like nothing I’ve used before. It gets absorbed quite easily and leaves my skin soft and luminous – never too greasy.
Besides the best skincare I love to use it as a cuticle softener. Rub it in with circular motions, leave it for a few minutes and they will be as obedient as a well-trained dog. Easy to push them back now and start the painting!
We’re not done yet, I’ve saved the best for last. Imagine your hair after a long day at the beach. Strutting around, sunbathing as if your life depended on it and throwing your hair in the wind to catch attention of the boys. Sounds fun but leaves your hair like the Great Sahara desert. Luckily Africans know how to deal with dryness, so my favorite way to use argan oil is as a heat protectant before sunbathing and as a leave-in treatment afterwards.
So what is your favorite oil to use?
